Zoë started writing songs a capella with her sisters when they were children on long journeys in the back of the car. She moved on to piano, learnt the flute for several years and then taught herself guitar. Things sped up when Zoë lived in France for a year where she started to busk in the Paris metro and practise in the cellar of a youth hostel. She did her first gig at the 12 Bar Club in London with her sisters Kate and Hannah (whose photography can be found on the title page), both talented singers. The following years of songwriting and gigging built her live reputation Zoë has collaborated with Jake Williams and Rich Thair, co-writing 3 tracks and singing vocals on the new Toob album, which was released in April 2005. Currently Zoë is gigging while preparing for the release of her first full-length album RIVER. Details here. Recorded, co-produced and mixed by Mike Mason at The Malt Barn in Oxford, UK, and named for the winding Thames in Oxford around which Zoe grew up, 'River' captures the hallmark of live performances which have earned her a reputation as a distinctive singer/songwriter.
